The Other Half Of Me Character Analysis

The story The Other Half of Me by Emily Franklin is funny, relatable, and heart warming. The main character, Jenny Fitzgerald is the product of her mother and a sperm donor. When her mother was pregnant with her, she met a man and fell in love and he has since raised Jenny as his own child. Jenny has three half siblings, as far as she knows. The twins, Sage and Sierra and her brother, Ross. The three of them share the same parents, while Jenny shares a mom with them. Jenny has never felt like she really fit in with the rest of her family. All of them are inclined to playing sports, while she would rather be at the studios painting. When Jenny meets Tate, her long time crush, he persuades her to go searching for any siblings she could be linked to through her donor and that is when we meet Alexa. Around the same age as Jenny, Alexa is everything she could have asked for… On paper, at least. Alexa soon pops over for a surprise visit, much to the Fitzgerald’s surprise. The Other Half of Me is following the journey of a girl who gets to know herself while she learns to love the differences between herself and her family.
