The journey Donald Duck is taking in this short film tells the origins of mathematics and how mathematics can be found in everyday life. The film shows you how it all began by taking Donald back to ancient Greece. Pythagoras is the father of mathematics and he showed us how everything does in fact include math in it. Pythagoras learned that from taking one thread of string and dividing it in half then dividing that in half and so on, he learned they each have their own tones due to each length of the strings. He realized music can be produced by mathematics and developed the music scale. Developing the music scale has changed the world we know today and has evolved music over the years. No matter what you do, where you go, or who you are Mathematics is in almost everything you do. Donald learns this through exploring the world of mathematics with the narrator learning how everyday items and abilities use math. Donald truly discovers that math isn't “just for eggheads” math is for everyone and it doesn't discriminate. Math is important for life and learning. From the simplest math to the hardest equation you could imagine math is important for almost everything. Going on this journey through time back to ancient greece will show the viewer just exactly how important it is to understand the world of mathematics and how the world never would have evolved into what we have today unless somebody acknowledged the existence of math and used its power to educate the rest of the world and show its wonderful powers …show more content…
Music would have never advanced this far if the power of mathematics hadn't been discovered. Music is an important part of the evolution process we have went through over centuries. Music has a great deal to do with history. You can find music in any situation. Wars, parties, funerals, weddings, and any celebration can be found with music in the background. From the steady beat of the pounding drum in war to the melodic cheery sound of a band at a ball. Music has shaped the world into what it is today.
