The Origination of The Cold War The American Cold War started briefly after World War 2 ended. The cooperation between The Soviet Union and America had been cut short and came out to be temporary because of the wariness the allies had over the union for the many things they 've done to make them unreliable. The outcome did however, impact both at home, abroad, and throughout the universe.
At home, communist spies created a climate of suspicion in the United States. spies were simply just people hired to infiltrate the opposing side. Two famous spy cases reinforced fears that Soviet spies in the United States were sharing American secrets with foreign Communists. The spies are thought to be the reason for the soviet union advancing in in their own atomic bomb development. These were the cases of Alger Hiss and of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. Policies were also a great impact throughout the US. Truman established a federal employee loyalty program in 1947 that made it possible for checking the backgrounds of all new and existing federal employees. The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) began investigating Hollywood personalities that the committee claimed, had Communist leanings. Hollywood studios compiled a blacklist, a list circulated to employers naming persons who should not be hired. This also brings up the 1952 McCarran-Walter Act reestablished the immigration quota system from 1924. This act discriminated massively against potential immigrants from Asia and…
