Leonardo da Vinci was the original Renaissance man. He was born in or around the little Tuscan town of Vinci in 1452. His father was basically a lawyer, so he was well taken care of. From a young age, arts and education were provided to him. By age 20, he was capable of being an independent master. A few years later, he accepted his master status. Within a decade, he had his first commissioned work. Around 15 years later, he painted one of his most famous works, the Last Supper. Within 10 years after that, he painted the Mona Lisa, arguably his most famous work. As his life progressed, he began to study engineering, and he began sketching war machines and new inventions. Finally, in 1516, he died, leaving his paintings, sketches, and notes
