Learning In Organizations: Continuous Testing Of Experience Into Knowledge

A learning organization is a company that encourages people to learn and grow. They not only are doing something that matters but are learning and expanding their knowledge. According to the field book “Learning in organizations means the continuous testing of experience and the transformation of that experience into knowledge – accessible to the whole organization and relevant to its purpose”. In a learning organization testing of experience and transformation of experience into knowledge, doing something that matters not only to them but to the larger world, everyone is stretching, growing and enhancing capacity to create and learn new things, people treat each other with mutual respect and trust in the way they talk to each other, people feel free to experiment, take risks and access results. In order to achieve all of these components of my vision people will have to be willing to learn and feel that what we are doing is important to a learning organization.

There are five disciplines for building learning organizations: personal mastery, mental models, shared vision, team learning, and systems thinking (Society for Organizational Learning). There are three broad factors that are essential for organizational learning and adaptability of a supportive learning environment, concrete learning processes and pro activeness and leadership behavior that provides reinforcements
