Self-reliance is what gives us strength to conquer any obstacle that we may possibly encounter when we undergo drastic change. We need to have a sense of balance in our mind when we want to overturn fear of drastic change in our life, being too confident could possibly lead to arrogant; but having too less confident can not accomplish anything. If we don’t have self-reliance we might turn ourselves to the help of substitution, such as alcohol, cigarette, and possibly drug. Those substitution will never be as good as the real solution, we can never satisfied with substitution. This is why we need self-reliance as a balance along with opportunities. But the self-reliance inside me gave me strength and confidence by telling me that it is fine to make mistakes because we can always learning from our mistakes and improving ourselves. I told myself I should focus more on my weakness. I talk to my friends only in English, I read more English books, and I always went up to my teacher whenever I have question. By having different thought, I was able to make more friends and learn faster. If I don’t have self-reliance what gives strength to me, I will never succeed and never fit into the new environment because I can not turn those fear of failure into action. In my opinion I think self-reliance are also needed along with opportunities to overturn the fear of drastic change into
