NFBD, or Never Fear Being Different is a Youth Organization that was created in 2014 and is seen as a brand, an organization and a movement as well. The Never Fear Being Different office is located at Ben Franklin Early Learning Center in New Castle, Pa. which was provided to them by the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership. There are not multiple locations, however, throughout the internship some of the normal office work took place at the Confluence in New Castle. Due to the services performed by NFBD, the locations also included Cray Challenges, West Hempfield middle school, Hickory high school, Neshannock high school, Baldwin high school, West Alleghany high school and Deer Lakes high school. NFBD 's vision statement is "Never …show more content…
The price for a school appearance ranges anywhere from $300 for a public school to $1000+ for a private school but NFBD wants to move towards a system where they are able to get paid for a private school appearance but then do 4 public school appearances for free. Never Fear Being Different sells their products mainly online through their website 's store which displays all of the current Never Fear Being Different gear they have and they’ve also began to sell them at their 2K partner 's store. Other ways Never Fear Being Different promotes people to buy their merchandise is through social media, at schools and any other event they hold so that they can allow the kids or adults to buy it in person. After researching the demographics, it was shown that most of the kids who want shirts don 't possess a credit card to buy the shirt online so they needed to showcase the merchandise during appearances to boost sales. Another neat idea Never Fear Being Different has been experimenting with is holding a popup shop which is a one day event where they go to a popular event and set up a stand to sell merchandise since usually people can only buy merchandise from the website. Never Fear Being Different has an array of promotional initiatives via social media. Most of these promos they do require their followers to like, favorite, retweet, hashtag, tag a friend to one of the posts, or post about NFBD to win a prize. The different prizes NFBD offers are typically merchandise or gift cards. This has been very effective because not only does it allow for their followers to become more engaged, but also promotes and expands their brand to a wider range of

Throughout my four years at Horn high school, I have noticed that many students at JHHS show an abundance of school spirit. For example, for every football game the student section decides what to be worn. My friend Brett made a twitter page for the students of Horn to tell students when to wear their senior shirts or Last Friday, we played Mesquite we were told to wear white and to splatter the skeeters. In addition, on pep rally days we have a certain theme that we follow. Two themes that we’ve had this year was a USA theme and neon theme.…

Bernard craves acceptance, not individuality. Huxley writes , “Bernard’s physique was hardly better than the average Gamma…contact with members of the loser castes always reminded him painfully of his physical inadequacy,” (Huxley 64). Although Bernard is very distinct from the rest of the members, he wants more than anything to fit in with everyone else and fit society’s mold because his height is a disadvantage to his class. Bernard appreciates and values things that no one does anymore, but he is still very unhappy because society is telling him that he can’t be content without fitting in with everyone." Huxley also states, “Elated by the intoxicating consciousness of his individual significance and importance.…

In Never Let Me Go, clones have a predestined course towards completing and although they may wish to change their fate they do not act on it because of an overwhelming and subconscious desire to conform and blend with society and their peers which has been instilled on them as they were developed. While Ishiguro doesn’t show what the consequence would be for not following the course that is expected of you, Proulx displays in her novel Brokeback Mountain how nonconformity is met with resistance and violence. This nonconformity displayed in Brokeback Mountain comes from how the characters were raised. Jack and Ennis even between themselves are different as to the degree that they are willing conform and not conform in certain situations. This is because between themselves they experienced different upbringings.…

The Fear of Inferiority Everyone has discussed how supremacy affects immigrants directly through racism and discrimination, but has anyone ever stopped to notice how the racism involved with supremacy affects an immigrant 's sense of individuality? Individuality is a concept that America lives and breathes on, so why are immigrants being suppressed of their individual freedom? Supremacists are not necessarily people who dislike colored people, but instead people who feel the need to seek a dominance in power, which can also be observed as a fear of being inferior. Unfortunately, supremacy is often portrayed by disapproval of a race which results in violent racism and discrimination; the group of supremacists associated with this violence is…

From controversies to chaos about the knowing of this particular subject, I have come to find that rebelling out during the adolescent chapter of one’s life is certainly and formally most common. Kids during this stage of life, have a difficult time finding themselves and their social atmosphere in terms of rebelling out, including going by the nonconformist values for a particular matter of time. This could be experiencing with alcohol, drugs, relationships, friendships and even a search for identity in hopes of feeling as if they fit in with the norm. By providing information about the young teens that go through such debates of numerous social ordeals, researchers believe that coming into terms of individuality and connectedness were two key factors into which contribute to the healthy development of adolescents. Although many try to blend in with the rest of the population, the few who break away and think with eccentricity stand out and make a change. In Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, Bernard Marx, John the Savage, and Helmholtz Watson all use their knowledge and ability to be an individual in order to understand freedom and escape from average society and community. Bernard is very important in the plot of the story because he is the one who first openly shows individuality and freedom, and inspires other characters to do the same. He starts off as the protagonist of the story, but quickly declines once John is introduced. He is individual because he does not understand the norms, but wants to.…
