In recent years, corresponding to the creation of the internet, the entire process of how we as human beings function has dramatically been altered. Technology has made its place in society highly apparent and some pieces of software have even been likened to appendages on our body from how often they are used. Take the smartphone for instance; 90% of 18-29 year olds sleep with their smartphones, and 95% of people use the phone for something just before going to bed. With regards to the other popular screen in the modern home, The Nielsen Company, states that 96.7% of American households now own TV sets. That same company shows the average American watches 5 hours of TV a day and, between 20 to 50 hours a week. Finally, over 50% of current jobs require some …show more content…
What has technology and modern mechanics done in a more focused setting? This essay will examine the presence that technology in the education system has made. This will be done by speaking in detail about how technology has been integrated into the education system, the positives and negatives of this movement, the impact it has had on the way and how students learn. Through this essay I hope to recognize the evolution and adaptation of the education process by not only pointing to its faults and shortcomings, but by also drawing needed attention to the outstanding things going on within the students ' minds because of these new methods. By juxtaposing the negatives and positives of this process, I hope to illuminate what is really going on within modern education. Before going into detail about the positives and negatives within the modern technological teaching system, it’s essential to know and grasp the total lineage and history behind how we ended up in our current position and progress.
