Richards, Wanita – HIS220 – Week 4 – Discussion -Equality vs. Equity Equality or Equity? Which would I prefer in my career? After much thought and consideration, I have realized that I would prefer equity, because I feel that we are all different in so many ways, that to have equality, would not be fair at all, due to being so different. Each person learns a different way. This would not be fair to those that learn by having the book in front of them compared to those that can process and succeed without having a book in front of them. People learn hands on, while others need more assistance. I feel that in my future career, equity would be more successful for me than equality. For me, I need the book and hands on. There are people that are good at some things and to work with someone that is better is something else, is a combination for great success. +I take my education very serious and therefore, I struggle to do my very best. I am very thankful for all the advantages that I have for my education, that other may not have. If I had to deal with equality, I would not be getting my degree to better my life for myself and my family. By having equity, we can all have the chance to be successful. For instance, our history.
