What do you think of when you hear the word Olympics? Does your mind go to the games that happen every other summer and winter? Or are you one of those people that thinks all the way back into time, about how the Olympics started and why they started? For me, I think of the Olympics as something that allows you to dream big. “The Olympics show that your dreams can come true if you work hard. It’s not IMPOSSIBLE.” Jencarlos Canela hit the Olympics right on the head with that quote. The Olympics is somewhere to dream, but it is also a place that brings people together. Instead of every other year, the games should be held every year. If we had the games every year we would have more of an opportunity to get to know each other and the cultures better. The Olympic games bring the world together for just a short time, in that short time it can motivate kids and adults to exercise, be the best that they can be, and to dream big.

Having the games every other year is not enough because we need this time all together. When you see the athletes, and how normal they are you start to believe that you can do anything. You want to be the best you can be and show people that you can do anything that you want to do. Especially for woman, everyone thinks that woman cannot do anything. This gives the woman a time to prove everyone wrong. We can push all the fighting aside and be a big happy family for two weeks. You get to see what other cultures are like and how they do things and how they represent their nation. Last but certainly not least, you get to have fun!
