Lance Armstrong a pro-cyclist for over 13 years, made many decisions and some were not so good. “In January, he admitted to TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey that he’d used steroids throughout much of his career” (Voughters 4). One who does not dope could never imagine the pain and pressure an athlete is going through to do such a thing. It is also sad to see all of the publicity these athletes are getting when the real spotlight should be on the athletes who got third or second or first places without performance- enhancing drugs. So when it comes down to Lance Armstrong or Ben Johnson using the drugs, was it really worth it? Should Lindsey Vonn have used drugs to heal faster to compete? The drugs do not say how good you are at a sport but more how good or great of a person you are. With Russia’s athletics some would say is a broken system. Russia unfortunately will not be missed at the 2016 Olympics. Nobody can say how the 2016 summer Olympics will play out but at least we do know it will be drug free.
