The Old Cole Analysis

Improved Essays
Cole is a fifteen- year old juvenile delinquent that's abused by his father. Cole is mean he beats kids up, robs stores, and blames his problems on the world. He doesn’t have a care in the world. That's the old Cole, not the new one. The new Cole is changed. Cole has changed in many different ways, suppose someone was getting bullied, he might stand up for them, the old Cole would be the one beating the kid up. I believe if the story had kept going he would have created an organization for abused kids, an organization where they could get help. Maybe that would help him get over what his father did to him, and his mom not caring. I hope someday he will have loving parents that actually care about him.

The Tell-Tale Heart is a story written by Edgar Allen Poe and is a story which I’m pretty sure, much like many other mandatory school readings like Shakespeare and Thatcher, that many of you have read and most of you have forgotten, myself included. To recap the tale, and summarize for those of you who actually haven’t read it, the Tell-Tale Heart follows the story of a man who tries his best to convince us he is not crazy whilst he plots to murder someone for the sole reason that one specific detail of the man displeases him. The story literally opens up with the man asking us if we will think him mad once the story is over, in fact it references a disease afflicting the man himself clueing us in that this man might be an unreliable narrator. The written language of the text definitely harkens back to around the 1800s with specific mention going to the placement of words in sentences and the significance of certain aspects of the Christian mythos, which was quite popular back then.…

He also comments on how he searched online (Ancestors.com) for historical relatives who had the same tendency towards anarchy. He goes on to describe how he escaped detention with the help of his two friends and allies, “The Daniels” (Sanderson and Nussbaum), and how once free, he and The Daniels head for the gym to watch the game. Donovan is distracted by a long-standing desire: to whack a bronze…

In addition to Sapiro’s claims, Cole shows that his findings are very similar. When conducting research in the 60’s Cole recorded hours and hours of interviews with young black and white Americans. Upon reflecting on these tapes some years later Coles realized he may have overlooked their ability to comprehend what he was asking. The main focus of his initial study was the aftermath of desegregation among primary schools. When he looked back he realized he had a complete running commentary of the events of which these children lived through.…
