The Oklahoma Community Orchestra Concert Essay

On Sunday June 12th, I attended the Oklahoma Community Orchestra Concert. This event took place at the Oklahoma Christian University Pavilion. The Concert started at 7:30pm and it was free for everyone.this was my first concert in a long time, since middle school. I got there exactly at 7:30pm, which made it hard for me to get a seat and a clear view of the concert. There were a lot of people there which meant that this was going to be a very good concert.

The concert started of with the band on my left side and the orchestra on my right side. They both had on a white shirt and black slacks. There was a podium right between the band and the orchestra. The place was filled with lots of people, who were there to enjoy the beautiful sound of these instruments. From where i was sitting, on my right i could see people who came late and sat on the lawn it was a very nice day. The weather was just perfect not too hot or cold, it was just exactly right with a bit of breeze. One of the conductor named Wagner came and stood behind the podium and did the introduction plus what is going to be going on and how long the show is going to last. The concert started with both the band and orchestra playing the Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key to open up the concert, kind of like the an overture which was absolutely amazing. Everyone stood up and sang along with their hand on their chest as they sing.
