The Observation Of Amber's Home

This worker arrived to Amber’s home at 4p, the children and their father had not yet arrived. Approximately 5 minutes later the children were drop off by the father. The children came into the home and greeted Amber by saying hello. Amber said hello back and then instructed the children to go into the kitchen and prepare to eat. Both children washed their hands and then sat at the table. Amber made the children plate which consisted of 2 chili cheese dogs (a piece), chips, and the fruit of their choice.

Bre’Asya initiated prayer before the meal with her family. After prayer the family began to eat and talked about their day. The children expressed concern with their mother’s health because she had been sneezing and coughing during the last visit. Amber assured them she was OK and was feeling much better. Amber then asked about their day at school. Both children said their day went fine. David Jr and Bre’Asya also had several moments of positive interaction. Bre’Asya encouraged her brother to eat his vegetable so that he could become stronger. David Jr smiled, said OK, and thanked Bre’Asya for saying something nice to him. They also laughed at each other and told each other playful joked. When Amber asked David if he thought he would get male student of the month he said he didn’t

Amber prepared popcorn for the children to enjoy while they watched to movie. The children went upstairs with this worker and chose what movie they want to see. When Amber came upstairs the viewed the content of the movie and decided it was not appropriate for the children to watch because it contained violence and profanity, The children were asked to pick another movie and did so. During the movie the family laid in the bed together with their popcorn and quietly watched the movie. When the movie was over Amber asked the children if they wanted something to eat.
