What Is The Main Conflict Of The Movie: The Sixers Of Oasis

2) The main conflict of the film is the hunt for the easter egg but why do “The Sixers”, who work for Innovative Online Industries, want to get the easter egg? What would be the Social and Economic impacts if IOI took control of The Oasis?

The Sixers of IOI work for the company because they are paid an extreme amount and bribed with other in game items. They offered Parcival to work for their company an amount which was even larger than the prize for getting the Easter Egg. This would be enticing to those who were offered it as it was a way for many to escape the poverty cycle which was common in their society.

Instead of interacting in real life, everyone met in the Oasis instead. This would put entertainment industries out of business unless they chose to follow to the Oasis where some people would do those activities in the virtual world still. Other entertainment industries would pretty much just be out competed by the game itself though. New jobs would be created through the Oasis though as seen in companies like IOI, but mainly ones like account boosting which is to level up accounts or collect items and also jobs such as maintaining the servers of the game. This was not seen in the movie, but is very likely as seen in games such as League of Legends despite it being illegal. The creation of jobs from the Oasis can be seen in the gaming industry itself as well. This started with gaming consoles and transitioned to computer gaming. The loss of physical interaction will be more prevalent through society and there will be very little reason to ever leave the house. The Oasis would likely be a very addicting game and end up with millions of people being addicted to the game. This would create a very pandemic like situation and I believe this is possible to create a world-wide issue for developed nations. This is quite similar to our smartphones, but more extreme as the phone allows most things to be done through it while the virtual reality machine lets everything be done through it with very few exceptions. In China, they have even created internet addiction camps to help teenagers overcome the issue. There are other industries that will lose business, but not as drastically. This would include ones such as transportation, food/agriculture and manufacturing. Many industries will have to adjust to suit the new wants of the consumers rather than keeping at their previous

A manufacturing company that uses machines instead of people for production can potentially increase the company’s profits. These profits come from not having to pay as many wages for people to make the product, as well as the machines being more productive and able to make more of the product in a given time period that people. The same can be said of the finance and insurance fields; both of these are becoming more and more readily available online, which requires fewer workers to maintain. The reverse can be said of the areas with the most growth.…

Easter Island was quite an experience of a new location for settlers and showed the inadequate use of resources that were accessible to the new inhabitants. It showed how desperate and inhumane people became at the extinction of valuable resources on this island. These new owners of land were quickly befallen at the expense of most of their lives and all of the natural resources. A dystopian is the opposite of a utopia. A utopia is a perfect society where everyone has everything they need, everyone gets along, everyone is happy, and basically life is perfect. A dystopia is the exact opposite of that. People don’t have things they need, people are poor, not happy, not everyone is happy, people are dehumanized, and overall it’s a terrible society to live in. The dystopian world in Ready Player One is comparable to the Holocaust, because they both were dystopias, people were dehumanized, and people forgot what life was.…

I really liked the movie Defiance. Tuvia Bielski was a very brave leader. He was able to lead not only his brothers, but 1200 other Jews to safety before the end of the war. I found it amazing that in the movie he just happened upon many of the Jews he helped. In all of the accounts I read on him, he was more organized and willing to go out of his way to get the Jews.…

According to the B A 321 textbook, facilitation is the set of activities carried out before, during, and after meetings to help a group achieve its own outcomes. A facilitator is someone who performs these activities, helping the team by monitoring and improving its internal process. Twelve Angry Men, a movie about an open-and-shut murder trial in which one juror stands alone in his beliefs, made use of facilitation. When the twelve jurors were sent to deliberate a unanimous verdict, the case was not as clear-cut as they once thought. The jurors were made up of twelve men of diverse backgrounds.…

Often movies are made out of blockbuster books. Sometimes the movies do a good job of capturing the most important moments from the book and presenting them in the movie. Unfortunately, some movies do not always accurately depict the books they represent with full details. There are many reasons why a movie depiction of a book fails not least of which is because they are only given a couple of hours to tell the whole story in the book. A book is able to go in depth with the character’s emotions and experiences while a movie based on the book is limited by the length of the film.…

For my film analysis, I chose to analyze the movie “The Outsiders” directed by Francis Ford Coppola and based on the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton. In this movie, a gang of outcasts from the north side of town called the Greasers are always fighting against a rival group called the Socials, who are the rich jocks from the south side of town. The story follows two young Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, who aren’t like the others. These two see that fighting is pointless, but it’s just the way they live their life. The two boys get into a fight with some Socials and end up killing one.…

"Should Gamers Be Prosecuted for Virtual Stealing" -author Alex Weiss argues against the decision of the Dutch Supreme Court to rule in favor of a 13-year-old victim of virtual theft. Playing virtual reality games requires investing time and occasionally money to achieve a goal. With the loss of a shield and amulet, it was enough for the boy to seek legal action. When taking into account the time the 13-year-old spent to get the items, the court's decision to rule in his favor was not completely unjustified.…

The film Twelve Angry Men (1957) exhibited the power of an eyewitness, the characteristics of the defendant, and the power of group influence that affects the jury. Throughout the film, the reliability of the eyewitness was questioned. There were two eyewitnesses in the movie, the old man, who lives in the apartment below of the crime scene, and the old woman, who lives across the street. According to the film, there is a possibility that the eyewitnesses misinformed the jury about the crime scene. Eyewitnesses may not be as reliable as they are thought to be.…
