A few decades ago, some people got to together to make a ballet/play called the Nutcracker. This play is included with music, scenery, and costumes to bring the play to life. The play was written by E.T.A. Hoffman.

The play was first performed in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1892. The crew got together and made the play about a girl named Clara. The girl got the Nutcracker doll in one of her Christmas eve gifts. One of her family members got jealous that she had one so he just broke it. Clara went to bed, worried about the Nutcracker doll. She went into the living room to check on the doll, but when she sat down with it, she fell asleep with the Nutcracker doll in her lap. Then she has a dream about the Nutcracker and that is when the play
