Human nature is a term that is used to describe the way that humans behave. The definition of human nature according to Wikipedia is illustrated as, “the distinguishing characteristics—including ways of thinking, feeling, and acting—which humans tend to have naturally, independently of the influence of culture.” The Bible also gives references to human nature which backs up its definition. According to the Bible, Psalm 51:5, David states, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” What David is trying to articulate is he was born with sinful behaviors, this correlates significantly with the definition of human nature and, furthermore, this also helps with answering the question, “is all human behavior learned …show more content…
Also, nature has been linked to one’s intelligence, personality, sexual orientation, and likes or dislikes; however, this has not been proven that these behavioral issues are gene-coded in our DNA. The nurture side of the debate deals with how a person’s behavior can change depending on the environment that a person was raised in. Can a child become more intelligent because of his environment? Or is it predetermined by the genes the child has inherited? These are the questions that have been asked, however, there has not been an answer that fully explained these …show more content…
I believe for a fact that genes are the reason why we behave a certain way; however, ultimately we have the power to be who we want to be and choose the path we will travel
