Lack of responsiveness is very powerful especially at the work place. Responsiveness is a dimension in relationship-levels meanings (Wood, Julia 19). For example when you are engaging in a conversation and the person or people in this case and they are having side conversations or not paying attention this causes lack of responsiveness. This is a very big issue that this group has because it happens almost daily. It was most offensive and frustrating during this particular meeting because the lack of responsiveness was directly effecting people in the interdisciplinary team. What was noticed is that no one was listening and the meeting became counterproductive. People walked out of that meeting felling unaccepted in the group or not felling a sense of belonging which is one of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs (Wood, Julia 2016). What was interesting was the people who have I- you communication where you are treated as you were an object and do not see the person as an unique individual (Wood, Julia2016) were the ones who were not listening and the people with the I- Thou relationship which are people who communicated on a deeper level (Wood, Julia 2016) were the people who were the people trying to keep the meeting going in a productive
