“Now it’s your turn to hide! I’ll count to twenty! Ready? 1 2 3...” I ran downstairs as she continued to count. The steep stairs almost made me fall, but I caught my balance. I opened the first door I saw when I got downstairs. There was a dark hall that looked like the setting of a horror movie. As if something was going to come out at me. I went to the end of the hall where I reached a hidden door. The bathroom. Perfect! She’ll never find me here. “Lucy! Lucy! Where are you?” Haley yelled.
I giggled to myself. After a couple of minutes passed, I decided to go back out into the dark hall to stand by the door to listen for Haley. As soon as I got to the door, I heard a loud thud. I opened the door to find Haley trying to my pick my uncle

I met up with my mother and left. That night, as I was laying in bed, I recieved a message from Haleye saying: “Hey I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You gained an angel to look after you. I hope you’ll take it as a blessing, not a hardship. None of us belong here. He went back home, and someday, you’ll see him there again.” I broke down into tears after recieving the news that my uncle had passed away. I went upstairs to ask my father it was true. He explained to me that my uncle fought a hard battle, but that it must have been time for him to leave. From then on, my outlook on life was never the same. Even though my uncle was an alcoholic, he was always my favorite person to talk to, when he was sober, of course. He was always in a good mood and knew how to make me smile. Even if it did not seem like it, I loved him. I know everything happens for a reason. Whether the reason may not seem clear, God knows what he is doing. He throws hardships to make every one of us stronger. I am convinced that who I saw during Mass was his angel. I will never get to feel his hand shake again, or even see him. I know he is somewhere out there. I know he is watching over me. He’s my angel. I cannot wait to reunite with
