There was a section that Jenkins writes about the message that is proclaimed in the US / Western World, this message is one that appears to be catering to the minds of those it encounters, and appears to be a whole lot more metaphorical, and less literal (Jenkins, 270). Where as it appears that the Global South, is much more literal, and can relate personally to the poverty in the scriptures as well as the end times. I spent some time in Uganda, and it was amazing how much clearer I saw the scriptures that spoke on the poor, and caring for those on the periphery of society. Jenkins believes these areas of the developing world can relate to what the rule and reign of empires were doing to the people in Biblical times, due to the corruption and political issues of some of these countries in the south.
