Furthermore, those in power wouldn’t risk going against the individuals tasked with upholding the laws they created, that in itself is paradoxical. But it’s also believed that “change takes place all the time and may have positive consequences” so the protests involving thousands who are marching for justice in America not only follows the conflict perspective it also connects the interactionist perspective. Individuals are uniting to protest injustice, while playing an active role in “influencing and affecting everyday social interaction”. Unfortunately, other forms of protest, like the targeting of police officers is not surprising, viewing it from an interactionist point of view where “people respect laws or disobey them based on their own past experiences”. Now an armed man with a past full of arrests and convictions murders two police officers, creating even more tension between police officers and those they are sworn to protect. By analyzing the individuals in this tragic event it’s easy to recognize the black man who killed the officers was a lifelong criminal; but that would have been missed if one were to analyze this incident with a solely …show more content…
