When looking at articles about needy children in Africa or children affected in wars, it is the compelling images that leads to take action and help. Such is the case with the mass kidnapping that took place in Iguala. Image One depicts an appeal to emotion. Looking closely at Image One, the people in the image seem to be yelling. The people are on the streets as a result of rage and frustration. These innocent family members are seeking justice for their loved ones. This frustration that has caused these protestors to march on the streets also gives this image a sense of suspense. The protestors are holding wanted like signs with solemn portraits of their missing family member reading, “they were taken alive, therefore we want them alive.” The solemn portraits on the wanted like signs, evoke an eerie feeling on the reader, as the eyes on the portraits seem to stare directly onto the eyes of the reader. As a viewer, it would be understandable to view the signs as an erratic way for the protestors to express themselves, but it has to be understood that the people in that image are mourning mothers and fathers, who are trying to gain attention from the government. Another thought to keep in mind is that most of the people portrayed in Image One, are impoverished illiterates. Overall, Iguala is a case that is reaching spectators eyes as a case of justice seeking.
