The investigation found that minorities were more likely to be beaten by guards, spend more time in prisons, or be sent to solitary confinement than white prisoners. Overall, The New York Times didn’t use connotation or bias, but used denotation and facts for a more informational report. The author uses logos as the main rhetoric for the article. They use statistics and facts over connotation and emotion.
