One freezing April morning in Sacramento, California, the boy with dark hair and yellow skin came into a new world. He was a first child of one Asian American family and his name William. Everyone in his family excited to have him as a new member. As William was too little, he could communicate with his parents only by crying. At that time, he cried whenever he was hungry or upset about something. William not only was challenging to communicate with others but also had a difficult time to adjust to his new environment. Therefore, his parents needed to do something to help him to adapt in the outside world. As the time passed by, and it was not that long, then William could change himself to his new world. Later, he started getting more curious and wanted to know everything surround him.

William knew how to count the number as he knew how read alphabetical order. At school, he still kept practicing number, the letter, and words that relate to those letters. For example, “A as an apple, B as a boy, D as a dog” and counted like “one duck, two ducks, three ducks were on a roll.” Not only academic learning, William also able to sing ABC’s song and became more social with some tinny friends from his school. Outside class time, he liked to play with Jason, Erik, and Kavin at the playground. Since preschool to elementary school, William had increased his knowledge from one year to another. From he knew only ABC and one, two, three, until he able to read and write or solve math problems. Besides those two subjects, William also interested in science, social study, history and other.
