Higher Price, More Standard Amenities
With a cost difference of $2,650 between old and new, this represents a 6.8-percent price increase over the previous model. Even so, the Genesis G80 provides an improved list of standard content, including a host of safety features previously offered as part of a $3,500 tech package upgrade attainable by also selecting a $3,900 signature package.
The new standard features include: smart cruise control with stop/start, blind spot detection with rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, high beam assist, and automatic emergency braking.
Also included is an electronic parking brake with automatic vehicle hold, pre-safety seat belts, and nine airbags. As before, an 8-inch touchscreen navigation system with a rearview camera is standard.
In effect, Hyundai has taken the key features previously available only as package options and has included them across the Genesis G80 line in an effort to enhance the sedan’s value proposition.
Additional Trims and Available Packages
The two other trims are 3.8 AWD (all-wheel drive), priced from $44,850 and the 5.0, priced from $55,500. Both prices reflect a $950 destination charge.
