Vicki’s first job was in construction, although she did not get paid a substantial amount of money, it was great learning experience for her.
In the next year of high school, junior year, she started taking school serious again and hung out with a smart and kind group of friends. This was the year that Kathy and Vicki became friends again. Also, a tremendous milestone in Nenana took place, they finally got roads. This was extravagant and impactful because she could start visiting more family. My grandma also got her second job in the Nenana ice classic. The Nenana ice classic is when the town puts a tripod in the middle of the river in the village,

My mom helped her and this is how my mom made a little bit of money when she was around 8. At this time in her life, my grandma’s main focus was to raise my mom, and make money, so they did not do much traveling for about 3 years which is when my grandma opened another business, this business was a coffee shop. This business went alright but she did not have enough money for travels, and in her opinion to support my mom enough. Then, Vicki went into the business she still has today, real estate.
Once Vicki got into real estate, and started making more money, she took a trip to France. She was 28 when she took her trip to France and stayed with one of her close friends. Vicki states, “My favorite part was not seeing the Eiffel Tower, but learning about different cultures and ways of living.” Beside from the Eiffel tower, she also went to the Musee d’Orsay, which is one of France’s most popular museums. My grandma also tried many café’s and restaurants. She also had an amazing time exploring the boutiques and shops, and meeting an endless number of new
