Jesse is anxious about them being alone together, simply because they couldn’t control themselves physically, and that wasn’t fair to Dave. Jesse believes he has to have permission first. But now his love for her has has gone a step farther to the point where he doesn’t think they can even be around each other, because of the love he has for her and it is excruciatingly painful to feel all of this love for someone he can’t have yet.
