Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, it is a pleasure for me to speak with you all as I attempt to increase awareness of issues in our current world which many of us may be ignorant of. The world has its “dark side”, where cruelty, discrimination and evil prevail and not everything on this earth brings about positivity and happiness. Today, I’d like to touch on one of the major current issues, racial discrimination, which is prevalent in our everyday lives, and on its severity.
Imagine living everyday in paranoia knowing that everywhere you go, everything you do is being observed and judged. Imagine walking into even a simple roadside store and having someone scrutinise your every move, thinking that you’re going to steal an item or reveal …show more content…
In all holy books, it is mentioned that all people are created equal. In Christianity, God never said “let the whites dominate the blacks”, nothing of that sort, so who are we to judge? The belief that everyone is created equally seems to not resist anymore. That’s why I am here before you to make you understand that racial discrimination is an immoral act. Racial discrimination is experienced across a spectrum. For centuries, the issue of racial discrimination has been haunting millions of people worldwide. Almost everywhere you turn; you see some form of discrimination. Research shows that discrimination results in the most significant harm to an individual with issues such as emotional trauma and mental health effects arising. There are other damages, such as loss of job or promotional opportunities, loss of pay for days not worked, and countless others. The people that discriminate usually choose scapegoats on whom to take out their frustration and aggression, usually those who are seen as weaker or inferior to themselves. Being discriminated can change someone’s whole world and again what wrong did these people ever do that resulted in so much pain and
