There is a list of various issues that contribute to the negative relationship that has developed between law enforcement and the local community. One can continue to discuss the issue but the discussion of how to correct the issue must take place. If the negative relationship continues, it could lead to a backlash against the criminal justice system. The number one issue that was found was the lack of proper training for law enforcement concerning various situations. Officers go through an initial screening and fitness test in order to determine if they are fit to undergo training at the police academy. The training program typically last between 12 and 14 weeks.
