The Negative Influence Of Soccer

Soccer, loved by all who have played the game. Soccer was first known to be a barbarian sport in its early generations, and it has become to the civilized game known today. The multi-billion dollar soccer organization, Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), has helped and impacted many countries around the world. Furthermore, this sport has help people to become more healthy and to stay away from the bad influences in life. The beautiful game of soccer has influenced the world in a way that no other sport has both through the societal changes and the influences of individual lives. There was no first soccer game, the game was played even before there was recorded history (Murray 2). In early societies soccer was played as a mob game which villages would play against each other (2). In ancient China, there were more refined kicking games played in societies “which boasts the oldest rules resembling today’s game” (Murray 2). In America, soccer has always been a popular sport between the Native Americans before the Europeans arrived to North America (1). The organization FIFA has the power to make millions of jobs and inject billions of dollars into a nation’s economy (Beck 1). According to foundations, from 2011-2014 14 millions of jobs were created on behalf of the world cup (1). The host country of the world cup would dramatically increase its revenue to a total of USD 7.2 billion (1). FIFA also distributes funds to members (countries) via grants. This nations will receive an annual grant about $250,000 from a program called Financial Assistance Program (FAP) (1). This program is very helpful as countries receive between $1.8 million to 2.1 million dollars from FAP in a four-year period. This assistance from FIFA and its program FAP has contributed a lot of countries economically and shaping its culture
