Our society has many faces; we wake up every morning seeing different kind of people with different kind of colours, different kind of ethnicity and different kind of “races”. Our world is based on how we lived it and throughout history, many changes has occur, when it comes to stereotypes, prejudices and forms of discriminations. Many events have occur where some “races” are superior then others and many people have been racial profiled over many things and we see things a lot throughout minorities and it is still happening today? The question is; why is racial profiling still happening today and what causes it? Is it because of all the stereotypes around the world, or is it because of all the forms of discriminations and prejudices people

Discrimination, unfair treatment of people based on their social category (Carl & Bélanger, 2015, p. 172). Discrimination would be like disrespecting someone physically or emotionally in a way because of there social group and in racial profiling, this happens a lot for example: a young African-American going into a dollar store with a bag and he opens it to get his wallet and the clerk thinks his stealing and forcibly removes the bad from him and opens it to find nothing and kicks him out. In a way this is discriminating in a racial profiling way of S.W.B “Shopping While Black” and this happened to Mary McCarthy, where she was discriminately racial profilled at a Shoppers Drug Mart (Pharmaprix) (Hasham, 2015). She just opened her bag and there was an employee who saw her and confronted her in a negative tone and told her to open the bag and the employee opened it and found nothing. Mary McCarthy just came back from her office at the University of Toronto where she is completing her PhD on racism (Hasham, 2015).
