People have their own beliefs and reasoning when it comes to same - sex couples and adoption. There is no logical explanation why people are against it. Over the last couple of years, the outlook on same - sex couples adopting have evolved while the older generation is having a harder time adapting. People that believe lesbian and gay adults are not fit parents have no empirical foundation (Adoption). Many people have a hard time accepting same sex couples sometimes due to religious reasons or personal beliefs. Loving and providing a child with a stable home should not be hindered because of bias opinions. The fear of the parents influencing homosexual behavior upon the child.People fear that children that grow up with gay parents could have damaging and lasting psychological effects (Stone). People are also opposed due to religion and certain beliefs. For example, Catholic people believe a household is built with a woman and man. They believe the child will miss out on a mother or father role. They feel as if the child will not turn out to be a well balanced adult without the contributing role of a father or mother.The bible addresses that homosexuality is a sin that must be put to rest as in death or harsh punishments. There are no scientifical cases or valid evidence that have shown that adopted child with same sex parents to have any have damage. A healthy family is defined as a domestic group of members with the support, encouragement and empathy that they need. Good Communication. Healthy families engage in positive and meaningful communication. Even though the bible states that a well balanced adult is only contributed by the role of a father and mother, who is to say that without one role the child is at risk to failure.If that was the case then a good percentage of children would be confined to being classified as unfit adults.

An estimated two million LGBT people are interested in adopting, yet they are likely to be turned down due to their sexuality, while about 415,129 children are registered in the foster care system, eagered to have two loving parents adopt them (Overview). Anyone who has the ability to raise a child in a loving and secure home and most importantly, wants a child, deserves to become a parent. No one should be denied the pleasure of raising a child. Gay adoption is a positive solution to the number of children that go each year without a loving home and family. Everyone is opened to there opinion but I feel like it shouldn’t play such an important factor in the decision
