In a time when the American War on drugs in frowned on in general disapproval by the public, the harmful and life altering effects of substance abuse goes frighteningly unnoticed or perhaps ignored by those who are blind to the widespread harm it can cause. While many people are unaware of the adverse effects that substance use can have on their body, mind, and spirit, some fall victim to a dangerous cycle of use that can leave them deprived of the naturally dependency-free luxuries that clean and sober life has to offer. While not all users of drugs (alcohol included) are chemically dependent, the negative effect of an external toxin or drug on the body and mind is still present but debatably less severe than full fledged dependency, yet still remains an unfavorable addition to any lifestyle.
