Social media is a part of our lives as the days go by but is it absolutely beneficial or is it entirely detrimental or is it both? A question our subconscious mind often sneak in upon using social media.
Social media is defined as websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, various blogs, and other sites that have content based on user participation and user-generated content are examples of social media. An online newspaper is the online version of a newspaper. Unlike traditional newspaper, online newspaper is cheap as it is completely free to the viewers. FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Centre (IC3) define identity theft as an activity that “occurs when someone appropriates another’s personal information without their knowledge to commit theft or fraud.” This scenario is actually a result of millennials’ oversharing habit. The over-shared information such as home address, bank account number, relationship status, school locations and graduation dates on the social media such as Facebook is not entirely safe as it can be accessed by anyone.
