A friend of mine when we were in high school decided to get a nose ring nothing like the bull nose ring that goes in a big loop just something small that went on the side of the nose that looked like a tiny blue dot. She was then later speaking with our school principal about how she can’t be wearing that. Then after some arguing between the principal my friend and my friend’s mother they reached a compromise that she could wear a clear nose ring instead. Now I don't know about you but all that fuss over a simple nose ring that isn't even that noticeable is a bit ridiculous if you ask me?
One thing that some students feel is that this partially goes against the first amendment freedom of expression. A lot of people, but not all like to express themselves by what they wear and how they wear it as well as their hair. In 2014 on the news I remember a story about a school. At Tottenville high school, in New York, during one of the hottest days if the year over 200 students were given detention over their dress code 90% of which were female. Why? Because they had the audacity to wear t shirts and shorts in school, because the school didn't have air conditioned classrooms in sweltering heat. The temperature was 87 degrees that day. This also caused some students and parents to question the dress code, and some even called it sexist or biased against
