A Life Event That Changed My Life

The one life event that has happened to me that has been a major role in shaping who I am today is when I found out my mom was really sick. Out of all the experiences and life events this event has been the most life changing. It has been the reason why I made so many major changes to become a better person.
It all started about 5 years ago when my world got turned upside down. I still remember sitting in the car waiting for my parents to pick up the test results. About 20 minutes after walking into the doctor 's office my parents came back to the car and my dad was holding a large yellow folder in his hands. I looked at my mom and dad 's faces and they both looked like they had been crying since they both had red puffy eyes and did not seem too happy. As soon as they got into the car my dad turned to me and explained to me that the test results came back and she indeed was diagnosed with Huntington 's Disease and that there was no cure and that my mom would get sicker from here on out. On January 10, 2015 was when all my mom 's pain and suffering went away. She was in a better place now watching over us and protecting us. My mom would always tell me that she had high hopes and dreams for me.It is also so bittersweet thinking of all the good times we had together as a family. She would not be able to see me and my brother graduate high school, get married , and meet her grandchildren. She said that I had the brightest future and to keep doing what I 'm doing. She is the reason why I became a CNA. I wanted to make a difference in other people’s lives because we can not control what happens to us or what diseases we get. She is the reason why I am a strong, caring, and hardworking person I am today. I am who I am today because of my amazing mom that taught me so

Life-changing experiences, or turning points, often cause difficulty to the person who is facing them. This thought is explored in the text,” The Father of Chinese Aviation,” by Rebecca Maksel, the autobiography Warriors Don’t Cry written by Melba Pattillo Beals, and the narrative I Never Had it Made by Jackie Robinson. Feng Ru, The first Chinese Aviator, Melba Pattillo Beals, one of the first black children to go to a white school, and Jackie Robinson, the first black MLB player, have all faced life-changing experiences and, in doing so, have affected their own countries gravely. Jackie Robinson was the first, of his race, to play in major league baseball. Jackie was asked to join a major league team, the Brooklyn Dodgers, and, even though…

The first mentions of the words ‘Taj Mahal’ caused images of pure white marble against clear blue skies to spring to my mind. After a quick Google search of the building, I anticipated expected my trip to act as an eye opener portraying the beauty of the Taj Mahal as representative of the true love of Shah Jahan towards his wife Mumtaz. When I arrived, I was sorely mistaken. I was surrounded by clouds accompanying a light drizzle of rain, hundreds of people packed together, and street children forcing Taj Mahal knickknacks in my face, trying to earn a few rupees. Reading Walker Percy…

After reading the autobiography, I learned about how Byrd and the crew went on the most fascinating expedition someone could be on. I feel the theme to this would be that you should live life to the fullest because you only live once, never give up on yourself or on others and to never be afraid of what lies out there. One important event that happened in my life , has to be the time that I first went on stage to sing by myself. There have been many events in my life, but the most pivotal has been the time I almost died. Many events stick with us through different areas of memory. My memory of November 22, 2003 is a crisp, cool Saturday morning at my aunt's small house. One moment my barely-taller-than-three-feet frame was just ambling through the door to the garage with my crazy family immediately behind me and the next I was on the cool hard concrete staring up at the dirty and dank ceiling of the garage, unaware of what had just happened to me in no more than two seconds. I can recall being so scared that I felt like I could not breathe.…

This event included a mixture of drugs, alcohol, parties, and prisons. It started when I was fifteen and my step-father, the man who raised me, passed away. It was at this point that I tried marijuana for the first time.…
