This article by Gordon, Conley, and Gordon (2013) did not address the medicinal use of cannabis since the review is revealing a system wise physical harm on human body by marijuana. Ultimately it is obvious that the authors are indirectly disapproving the use of cannabis. However, the article is strictly supporting the necessity for further evidences and studies on marijuana and its effects on human body.
Adverse effects are the major concern which is alarming to public health in the use of cannabis. The first article by Whiting et al. (2016) describes the high risk and short term adverse effects associated with cannabis use. Moreover the short term adverse effects are categorized and studied under three headings such as serious side effects, withdrawal due to adverse effects, and specific side effects. All the three articles discussed this subject in an interesting perspective. Two out of the three articles focused on the adverse effects and damage marijuana can do on human body and mind. At the same time the remaining article focused on legalization and safe supply, keeping the adverse effects in mind. All of them were alarmed about the euphoric effect of marijuana which attracts youths and teenagers. All the three articles were simultaneously crying out for more evidences and studies. Even though the majority of the articles explored the harm marijuana can do, they all supported the availability of medical marijuana for critically ill patients in order to alleviate suffering. Marijuana has binary effects; medicinal effects and adverse effects. Legalization of cannabis nationwide will allow society to enjoy its benefits and at the same time suffer from the impacts of its adverse effects. Hence it is right time for a careful renewal of policies in order to make use of marijuana’s benefits to those in distress with a barricade to the illegal use in order to protect our future
