To begin with, teenagers have been affected by Facebook which causes their grades to decrease. Furthermore, The teenagers are more focused on their online life than their life in the real world, wherein they do not know how to manage their time.
It is believed that the effects of Facebook drastically decrease teenagers’ academic performance.
By looking at articles, pictures, studies and asking their teachers we could see how their grades decrease. Looking at the their grades and researching about teenagers, we could see how teenagers’ academic performance decreases.

Teenagers take up most of their time chatting to their friends online. It creates a bad habit and it takes their time. Being connected to friends and families is delightful but when it comes to strangers, it becomes a problem. Creating relationships online also affects teens, it is hard for them to determine their online relationship than in real life (Kincel, “Negative Effects of Social Media”). Chatting takes so much time and thinking of what to say to the other person. The time taken up for chatting could help for doing the academic work. “Of course, one of the main attractions for connecting to the Internet was, and still is, the ability to better connect with the world around us” (“Social media: how does it really affect our mental health and well-being?”) All the time that is used could be an advantage for them to do their work. The teens have many graded homework which could affect their grades. They love their online social life than their actual life, in the real world and it affects their academic performance. Teenagers’ academic performance decrease by Facebook because of all the time they take up. Their academic performance is affected by their attention span, focused on the posts and chatting to their friends. Their attention span has decreased which makes them not be able to stay focused for a long period of time. They need all the attention they could use to stay on task and get acceptable grades. Teens are more focused on their life online rather than their life in the real world. They focus on posting unimportant items and becoming famous than doing actual work, which will lead them into a great life ahead of them. Lastly, teenagers spend time chatting to their friends online. It creates a different aspect for them whenever they meet in person. It also takes their time into thinking of what they should say to each other and they should be focusing on their work rather than anything else. All teenagers just need to use their time wisely and manage it well so they could succeed in life and in school.
