Forest soils are moist but since we cut trees without the protection of the trees from sun blocking the soil dries out more quickly. Trees also help perpetuate the water cycle by returning water vapor back into the atmosphere. Without this trees to fill this roles many the forest can quickly become a dessert and livings us without any trees.. Trees absorb gases like carbon dioxide they clean our air keeping all the gases from polluting the air we breath. The trees use “GreenHouse” to restore the balance in the atmosphere We should be trying to stop deforestation so it would not disappear completely. Without trees our oxygen will reduce we will have less oxygen because trees are the ones that produce our oxygen so we can breath and our air would be polluted even more with all the car and factories that we use all around the world brings many gases that have chemicals in it that pollute our air. Deforestation also change our climate. Without the tree the climate will alter the region cool climates may get a lot hotter and hot places may get lot cooler. Soil erosion can also lead to silt entering the lakes and any other water sources that we use. This can decrease our local water quality get lower and we can have poor health in the population area. Commercial Genocide The Earth and the gifts it gives are being exploited to earn money. This is because of worldwide deforestation. Countries destroy their trees to earn an easy profit at the cost of the Earth’s forests. Deforestation is used to create plantations, clear land for real estate development, and to harvest paper or wood. According to Kerry Cesareo and Linda K. Walker of the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), “46-58 thousand square miles of forest are lost each year.” Fortunately, there have been many advancements in deforestation research and some nations have pushed for action to prevent further destruction of the Earth’s forests.…

Forests still cover about 30% of the world’s land area, but forests the size of Greece are lost each and every year. At this constant rate of deforestation, the world’s rain forests could entirely be wiped out in a hundred years. It is not just humans that will experience the consequences of deforestation, as for many plants and animals it will be the catalyst for their education. In Asia alone, deforestation is expected to result in the extinction of 13%-42% of the regional species population (“Introduction: Global Deforestation Issues” 2). Deforestation happens for numerous reasons, some are that trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel or timber.…

The Dark Side of Deforestation Did you know that 80% of the world’s known plants and animals live in forests and are steadily losing their habitats to deforestation? Deforestation happens for a number of reasons and causes biodiversity to decline. As biodiversity declines, animals are dying and relocating because their ecosystem is becoming unstable. Some of the species in forests are unidentified species, others vast webs of plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. Deforestation causes many damaging effects to the Earth.…

Deforestation may be believed to be helpful to the economy and essential to the way humans live, but it is causing climate change and changes in the earth, which can have a major impact. For example, ¨Without trees to anchor fertile soil, erosion can occur and sweep the land into rivers¨ (¨Deforestation¨). This shows that land patterns and layouts an be altered greatly. Without trees, farmable land can be swept away by wind and water without the protection of trees. This is important because food supplies can start to go down. The extra soil and dirt in rivers can also alter the river waters, making the animals who drink it…

Since 1978, nearly 289,000 square miles have been destroyed across Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Suriname, Guyana, and French Guiana (Amazon, Butler, 1). The main reason for the destruction of the rainforest is so farmers can expand their land to produce more crops and the large logging companies come in and take the timber make products out of it. It has also been known that illegal loggers have come in and contributed to the destruction of the rainforest. The World Wildlife Foundation’s website (wwf.org) reported that a study by a Brazilian Commission showed that about 80% of all logging done in the 1990s was illegal (Logging, Viana G. 2). Another shocking statistic that is related to the sloth and the loss of their homes comes from.…
