Typically, a concussion takes female athletes more than twice as long to recover from a concussion. In this study, the researchers tracked teenagers in sports who were diagnosed with a concussion. Previous studies have also shown that girls experience more concussions than boys, girls also may take longer to recover. The study that was placed by John Neidecker shows that the common recovery time for girls is 28 days, which is more than double the amount, not time it takes boys to recover (11 days). Previous conditions may also play a role in recovery. Conditions like depression and anxiety could impact the recovery time. Concussions can cause migraines, lack of focus, and a hard time concentrating. This may mean staying home for a few days which means making up the work when you get back. If you still have the symptoms it may be hard to get your school work done correctly or spend extra time on it out of class. If you are an involved athlete and frequently have concussions or headaches it would be harder to get focus and get your work done.
