Due to the picture in document three it is clear that pollution was a major factor of negativity caused by industrialization. (In the early Industrial plant, the factories were near the water, which caused the water to be polluted, and polluted the air the citizens were breathing. The pollution in the water caused the water-borne disease, a disease that killed more people than the war did.) (Document Three) The water borne disease was very deadly and, was caused by the factories and the over populated cities. Although, the water was not the only thing being polluted the air that people were breathing was also getting polluted by the coal being used in the factories. Despite pollution one might say that it does not matter because they are receiving my economy, which is not right. Although more economy is good it leads to more deaths because of the conditions the people are living in. Wisely observed in the picture with the black smoke coming from the factory. (Document Three) In the picture shown in document six one can notice that the air and water may be polluted. The children seem happy, but the look kind of dirty and the pollution in the water and air probably makes it hard to wash it off.(Document Six) Equally important to pollution another negative in this time was the harsh working …show more content…
The condition the workers worked in during this time were terrible, with long hours and no health care, and if you were injured you would not get paid or they were fired. This was unfair and cruel not to mention that they were getting fired from the job that implicated the injuries. For example, in the poem in document two, “(Before) dawn my labor drives me forth” and “A stranger am I to my child;” (Document Two) labor keeps this poor lady from her child and makes her child think or her as someone they do not remember or recognize. This shows that because of the harsh conditions of the job she is in she is separated from her family. Now looking at the picture in document four, they show that more workers equal more goods on the market. Yet with more people in the factories more people are exposed to the harsh working conditions long labor hours, and bad air being inhaled. (Document Four) This all the harsh working conditions and long hour the economy grows substantially it was at the cost of putting the workers heath in jeopardy. This is not a positive thing it is an extremely awful thing. Another example of harsh working conditions is the photo on document six the children are shown in this photograph yet no sight of an authority figure. This might be because they are still at work working in dusty and crowed factories instead of being at home with their children on what seems to be a holiday.
