Everyday we walk around, enjoying the life we built and the people we have met, pretending that life will forever be frozen in a state of perfection, but what we don’t tend to realize is that life happens with every breath we take. Every second and every breath we take in our expected perfect lives, we age and many people choose to ignore it because it is something we cannot change. Media has given society the predetermined view of old as wrinkly, grey haired people with an illness with incurable symptoms such as poor eyesight and a never-ending brigade of memory loss, but never choose to show the other side to aging.
Besides books and television, advertising plays a huge part in the glorification of youth. Advertisers use the image of youth to sell their brands because the young are vibrant and full of life which helps sell their products to not only to the young, but also to those who want to look and feel young again.
