Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced that the state will defund the Planned Parenthood through the Medicaid program. The Health and Human Services of Texas informed the organization of its decision via a letter. The letter to the Planned Parenthood notified it of a series of health violations, that could potentially lead to spread of infectious diseases, as the undercover videos released by Center For Medical Progress (CFMP) showed the fetal body parts handled by the staff and buyers without mandatory precautions. It expressed concern that the clinics were "liable, directly or by affiliation, for a series of serious Medicaid program violations."…

Women need Planned Parenthood to help them make the correct medical decisions about their body based on proper medical advice; this organization has helped many women across the nation. The government plans to defund it because they think they own a women’s body. This is false; women own their bodies, not a governing body, a man, or even another woman. The…

Planned Parenthood should not lose any funding or be shut down. Despite recent abortion controversies, Planned Parenthood should not be held responsible for pro-abortion advocates. The organization is pro-choice, and intends to give the choice back to the people in order to allow them to choose a better life for themselves. If Planned Parenthood loses its funding or gets shut down, people everywhere, but especially low-income families, will be put in a difficult standing in affordable health care and wellness. Furthermore, shutting down Planned Parenthood would put many people at a greater health risk than they have now, and worst yet, it will not end abortion.…

Therefore, increase abortions as well. When congress defunds planned parenthood, it is essential to understand the rippling affect that will happen when a service is taken away. Under the circumstances of funds being taken away, there wont be enough funds to provide services for low incomes. With funding decreasing, the amount of services and education starts to go down. Some staff members who use to dedicate their time educating and teaching people healthy sex education through meetings, seminars, and classrooms will be lowered because now their primary focus will shit to helping more in the office to keep the facility running and financially stable.…

There is nothing all the more monetarily and economically determinative to a lady than choosing if or when to have kids, a choice to which Planned Parenthood has made an enormous commitment for a huge number of people. Planned Parenthood is the reason social moderates keep on assaulting abortion, as well as contraception in case one is against abortion and contraception, it is not just about abortion. Also, it is the reason Planned Parenthood has turned into a talisman to one side, an image of what they fear most ladies controlling their own, particular regenerative predetermination. 66% of the 1 million premature births in this nation are undertaken by private professionals other than Planned Parenthood, yet there are no mass dissents and…

In fact, the opposite is true. “Halting federal funds to Planned Parenthood would shrink spending by $520 million in the short run – but, over the first decade, it would cost taxpayers an additional $650 million,” an article from the Washington Post stated. The article also stated that taking the PPFA away “would take basic health care away from people who need it most --- those who are struggling to get by, who rely on Medicaid or have no health insurance.” The only way these people would be able to get the health care they need would be by a visit to the emergency room, which is much more expensive than an ordinary doctor’s appointment and is payed for by taxpayers. Additionally, as patients no longer had access to birth control or safe abortions (which, by the way, aren’t funded by the government), the number of unplanned births would increase.…

The funds given to Planned Parenthood by the government are very essential to the women that attend the clinic for their services. They receive “more than $500 million annually in government funding” (Kliff). None of these funds, though, go towards abortions but instead for services such as “birth control, cancer screenings, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections” (Editorial Board). Many of the women that attend come from low-income homes, so they need Planned Parenthood to provide these benefits to them. Taking away the funds that come from Medicaid and grants will cause more of a burden on the women who are already struggling.…

Planned Parenthood is well known for being a trusted health care provider in America. Since the 1960’s they have been a powerful voice for women’s rights. In July and August 2015, they took a major “hit.” The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released a series of videos showing Planned Parenthood officials acquiring tissues from aborted fetuses and selling the tissues. David Daleiden, founder of CMP, produced the videos saying that they provided evidence of, “criminal conspiracy to make money off of aborted baby parts.”…

In the United states we as citizens usually take those in poverty for granted. Most of us only care about ourselves leaving those in need without proper health care. Gongloff in one of his articles mentioned, “More than 45 million people, or 14.5 percent of all Americans, lived below the poverty line last year.” This show’s how women, men, elder people, and children are being left behind, dieing for having poor health and never knowing since they don't have the money or resource required to meet standards. Women’s rights has been an issue in the United States since the early 1800’s and until all people are comfortable discussing the fact that in many parts of the world, women have no say in what they can do with their bodies or how it’s treated. A woman should be the only one who can decide what is best for her body. There is only so much that women can do when the one place that helps women with checkups and abortion based questions, Planned Parenthood, is being defunded or closed down. “The House of Representatives is expected to pass a budget reconciliation bill that guts the Affordable Care Act, pulls roughly $450 million in federal assistance from Planned Parenthood and prevents Medicaid recipients from getting reimbursed…
