Most teens don’t desire to vote. Simply, most teens do not take the time to educate themselves on a candidate. In addition, if a teen were asked which candidate that they liked the most they would simply regurgitate what their parents say (“The Pros and Cons”). Currently, political participation is thirty-six percent, but in the past, political participation was fifty-two percent. In the past, new voters such as minority groups have been added, but the participation rate failed to increase (“ The Pros and Cons”). Indeed, votes are valuable, but those votes should be represented by their fathers until they are eighteen.
