Avatar is a scathing indictment of human greed and excess where the film's villains are the human society. The film illustrates the collision between nature and technology that would come to define and ultimately doom humankind's reign on Earth. The Navi consume renewable resources like flowers, while the human stuff their gourds with pre-packaged dinners. Their lifestyle emphasizes inner space rather than outer space. Peaceful equilibrium over relentless expansion and power. The Navi preach a connectedness with nature, rather than mastery over it. Ted is a boy who is madly in love with a girl, who does not dare to express his feelings. One day he will discover the existence of a magical object that can help him to make her fall in love with him, but a grumpy creature that communicates with trees and plants called Lorax has the object. Together they will begin an adventure to disrupt the plans of the evil Once-later, who wants to destroy all the plant life of the planet with its machines. As we can see, in the book the message about caring for the environment is more effective because it focuses on environmental issues and leaves other themes in the background. Avatar and The Lorax are films that have some similitudes. The main themes in both films are environment protection and human greed. This is shown through the destruction of Pandora and the Lorax Forest, and the repercussions of their actions. The forest of the two films was plenty of life before human’s destruction. As the human destroy the nature and environment, they replace it with machinery and factories. Although, both characters show similar believes and traits. Jake and Ted believe in what is right and they will do whatever it takes to stop evil and bring peace to their community and even the
