It was found that brain tumors can be a big component for why someone may show aggressiveness. As the tumors grow, it creates pressure on certain parts of the brain which then transforms the personality of the individual, causing them to become more angry and violent. However, when these tumors were removed, the individual had returned to a more calming state with much less aggression. There is also evidence that a specific genetic variant influences aggression in those who are under pressure and stress in their life. We can see an example of this in Mikal Gilmore’s novel, Shot in The Heart, as he talks about his brother who killed two people and explains how his father was an alcoholic and was violent/abusive towards his mother and two older brothers. Going with this notion, it would be the environment and nurture that promotes how an individual develops. Although it is still possible, a child with a great upbringing that is full of care, could still have that aggressiveness laying inside them but, whether this aggression is shown, depends; For some people, a trigger of events which could be traumatic in their lives, is what sets off their aggressiveness, while others who possess this component of aggressiveness, do not show anything at all because of the manners and social ideals they were taught which allow them to handle it and keep it at bay, knowing the difference of when to act and when not too. Many believe that aggressiveness is a learned behaviour as only some express it and others keep their control over the emotion. It was also shown that in other societies, it is possible for children to be taught non-aggressiveness behaviour. In these societies, children learn from the start that it is important for them to work together to create a better environment for each other. Also in other societies that focus on hunting and gathering, those individuals who show aggressiveness are often excluded from the group. We also know today, that for an individual to develop and conform appropriately, they need proper socialization. With proper socialization, this teaches the child right from wrong and would hopefully
