The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the National Rifle Association (NRA), the Judiciary Committees of the Senate and House form an Iron Triangle. The NRA lobbies for the rights of gun owners and works to protect the 2nd amendment. The ATF protects the public from crimes involving firearms, explosives, arson, and uphold the Constitution and the laws of the United States in the pursuit of justice. The House and Senate Judiciary Committees create legislation that affects gun owners, manufacturers, importers, and sellers, many of whom are a part of the NRA or other special interest groups.
