Research Facts About Homeschooling

According to the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI), there are an estimated 2.2 million home-educated students in the United States.(NHERI,“Research Facts on Homeschooling”) Most home-schooling families (parents) would rather educate their own children at home because it creates a more customizable and comfortable environment for the student. Yet there are many contradictions that are here and there debating whether or not that is enough for the student because a lack of resources. Some education supervisors in the public school system may assume that the average homeschool student “does not socialize enough” or that they are odd. There are certain time restraints that one parent must be aware of, for example, not being able to work as much as they want. Educating one’s child consumes a lot of time and honestly, children require a lot of attention. According to Isabel Shaw, the author of an article on homeschooling, in her words he explains homeschooling as “very draining.” Parents provide and work a mass amount and are offered the option on whether or not they want to sacrifice more of their time when there are trained professionals that are hired to teach for them. Yet on the other side, homeschooling can be very beneficial for both the parent and child because it can create a closer and healthier relationship between the two. In addition, the child would be more comfortable knowing that the person who is talking to them is someone they can trust. Homeschooling allows there to be emotional and environmental freedom. Plus the student will have educational freedom, which basically means they can study whatever they want for as long as they want without having time to stop them. It all falls into the hands of the child is who is the main object and judge when it come to deciding what path they will follow. As for the parent, as a good and respectful parent, they will likely support the decision of the child when the circumstances are just right. Although there are plenty of great understandings to why homeschooling is great, public schools or to just be homeschooled. It is an opportunity to provide social skills as well as understanding the view of others. The worldview of one would not be so enclosed as to one who stays home all day and does not socialize with others. For example, living outside the box is a quote that many people say to others when it comes to creating new ideas. But that as it may, how is a child going to evolutionize our today for the future when they are so accustomed to what they see every single day and nothing
