Indonesia is an archipelagic state, located strategically between two oceans and two continents made it plays an important role in connectivity of sea transport, particularly in Malacca Straits with other neighbouring counties. Moreover, it is one of the largest maritime country in the world with more than 17 thousand islands and more than 95 thousand km of coastline.
With the shape of the island nation, sea transport plays an important role in the implementation of the country 's sovereignty with regard to many sectors. The political, economic, social, cultural, defence and security. In particular, maritime transport is very instrumental in national and international logistics system. Regarding to the few types of funding schemes and the lack of financing in seaport development, the evaluation of funding schemes in seaport infrastructure is needed in order to recognize the effectiveness of the existing funding schemes to gain adequate financing for further planning.
2. Research Question and Objectives
According to the background, the following question to this research study that raise “is the existing funding schemes effectively implement for port development?”. Then, in line the examining the effectiveness of the funding schemes that held by the Government of Indonesia in port infrastructure project, the objectives of this research can be determined, there are:
• To see the effectiveness of funding schemes in the seaport infrastructure projects in Indonesia.
• To see the obstacle appears in funding scheme 's evaluation from the analysis.
• To give recommendation whether improvement or suggestion on funding schemes in seaport infrastructure
