The NWSCC Parking Problem

Decent Essays
A common problem at NWSCC is people not park their car in between their line, and students parking in visitor spots and/or teacher slots. This becomes a problem because some people will park to close to you, and as a result they hit your car. I personally have had my car dented twice due to this problem. Furthermore, people not parking in between starts a chain of drivers not parking in their line, and as a result messes with a parking spot someone could have occupied. It becomes even more of a problem when students do it on the first parking spot line. Many students who are in a rush could use that parking space, or even older students. On daily one can see 50 years or up students having to walk long distances due to this. All in all, many students including me get annoyed, because we must look for another spot due to students not knowing how to park. In addition, many teachers also get annoyed when students park …show more content…
For example, students should get a warning if they step on the line, and a ticket if they get into the second parking space. Another, solution could be getting the information from the parking decal, and making students comeback and park right. This could result in people also stop people parking bad in chains. As for, seniors having to walk longer distances maybe some of the parking spaces need to be turned to senior parking spaces, and seniors should get a special senior parking decal. This would fix the problem, and help the seniors that have trouble walking. Also, for teacher parking spots teachers need to get strict, and by this, I mean they should call the campus police and report the cars. Finally, an idea that’s not likely to happen would be to build more parking spots. I don’t really think there would be any objectives fixing the bad parking problem, as many students get annoyed of it. The only objective would be on building more parking spaces due to

Other students have agreed on this and have completely stopped driving on campus due to the risk of damaging their cars and spending more to maintain them. If more students decide not to drive to school, the school would lose more money because there would be no need for anyone to buy a parking permit. The school should pave all parking lots and ensure that they are in the best conditions for drivers. This would save students the trouble of fixing unnecessary repairs on their vehicles and keep them buying a…

I know now that parking on the grass, curb, and Starbucks is $50 and not $150. The risk management decision method that I would have chosen if I had to do it over again is avoid. I avoided risk by parked there anyway. Later on in the second semester I got another ticket and it was $50. One night I parked on the side of Starbucks because I was at the library from 8pm-12am.…

If one would go around and ask the constituents of College of Dupage about their biggest issue on campus some would complain about the cafeteria food chains, the educational policies but the one complaint you would hear the most would be parking. Every year there are about 28,000 students who enroll, meaning they all attend by either riding the bus or driving. Majority of them drive, considering the fact that they are also new drivers who enjoy their newfound freedom. Since that is the case most students can't find parking, therefore they look to other options such as taking the bus, carpooling, or even scheduling classes later on in the day. Most would say the best solution would be to build a bigger parking lot or parking garage, which is…

I parked in the spot at 11:13 and after helping put the donations away in the pantry, I returned to my vehicle at 11:30 to find the ticket. I have never parked anywhere other than in TWU housing spaces and I was uninformed about the designated parking areas. Unfortunately, I now know that there is a grey curb color that means it is faculty parking that is different from the black…

As you may know, many of the students at Bloomsburg University commute and one area where students are permitted to park is the Geisinger Hospital parking lot area. Many students have complained about the lack of lightning. Being a solar street light construction company we would like to propose to have additional lights installed within the lots and the areas going down to the parking lot. We also propose installing lighting in the blue parking lot on upper campus. This lot is used by students that keep their car at the university while staying in campus dormitories.…

At school there is a Subway across the street and after school most kids instead of waiting at the sidewalk and getting the signal that is a safe time to walk. Decide to walk onto the street with oncoming traffic. People don’t think about what could happen if you make your timing wrong and now everyone is crying because you're no longer with them. I was coming home from a cheer competition in Anaheim and when we were pulling off the freeway we had seen three kids on their skate boards going across the street, when they weren’t suppose to, and a 17 year old girl, was on her way home and she had a green light, and two kids made it across the street and one did not.…

Indeed the parking at UNLV ranges from bad to terrible; I was over 30 minutes to a math midterm due to some sporting event at the Thomas and Mack. I did not know there was an event going on and ended up having to park at the 7-11 on Naples and Swenson and then walk all the way to the east side of campus. I have 8 and 8:30 am classes this semester so when I get to UNLV there is plenty of parking but that is quite a bit earlier than I would like to go to class and getting out of the parking lots in the afternoon is always a pain. Perhaps it is the cynic in my…

In order to fix that problem, underground parking lots exclusively for apartment residents could be a possible solution. Being underground not only saves space, but time…

From an economics perspective, the market for airport parking in the city of Melbourne would be a monopoly (assuming that this is limited to the parking that is a part of Tullamarine airport). A monopoly is defined to be a market type where is only one firm operating with absolute market power, with no close substitutes and a large barrier to entry. Firms operating in this market are required to have proximity to the airport, with a large area available for cars to park, and the resources to monitor and ensure the security of these vehicle. These factors require both significant capital and government approval beforehand – ensuring that entry into the market is near impossible. As other firms are unable to enter the market, the sole firm operating…
